The brilliant cut diamond has a round shape. This shape gives the highest reflection of all cuts. Due to the specific cut and the reflection of the light, brilliant cut diamonds give the most fire and sparkle. The brilliant cut diamond has no fewer than 57 cut facets! The diameter of this diamond is 1.4 mm. When a diamond is so small, it even gets 1 more facet. The point at the bottom of the brilliant - the kollet - cut diamond is cut a tiny bit flat. This way the diamonds cannot damage each other. Diamond is the hardest mineral on earth. And a diamond can therefore only be processed with another diamond or using industrial diamond dust to polish the diamond.
